It seems that Acer is planning to enter the virtual reality market with its own VR headset. The company was already in talks with Starbreeze to design and manufacture the StarVR headset but unfortunately for Acer, there are other VR headsets out there. This means that they will have to compete against other popular companies such as HTC, Sony, and Facebook.

Currently, Acer has about 1.2 billion dollars in cash. By using its manufacturing capabilities, the Taiwanese company can help Starbreeze to release the VR headset. However, Acer is not doing too well financially as the firm is not making great profit. If the company doesn’t see positive results with this upcoming VR headset, there will be some serious consequences.

With Acer well-known as a desktop and laptop manufacturer, it’ll prove beneficial to the creation of this virtual reality system as a virtual reality system needs high graphics processing potential in order to deliver an immersive 3D experience.

One thing is for sure: it will be interesting to see what kind of VR headset this collaboration will create. Hopefully, this upcoming VR headset will generate good revenue for the Taiwanese multinational hardware and electronics company.

It seems that more and more companies are interested in manufacturing virtual reality headsets. Without any doubts, this is the future and we are pretty sure that gamers will be first in line for these experiences.
