One of the best benchmarking tools, 3D Mark, gets first update in Windows 8.1 3D Mark is for me the best benchmarking tool available in the Windows Store and I always use it to asses the functionality of my Windows 8.1 and Windows RT tablets (yes, I have more). So, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Futuremark, the company developing 3D Mark, has released the first update for its update since Microsoft has made official the Windows 8.1 rollout.

The update is likely to be a minor one as it reads like this: “we’ve added a prompt to the interface to help you find the best test for your hardware”. I have tested the Windows 8 updated 3D Mark app and can confirm this incremental improvement. Futuremark recommends that you used the desktop  version of 3DMark for notebook, laptop or desktop PC running Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 and stick to the app only for touchscreen devices.

The 3DMark benchmarking test app is used to asses the  gaming performance of your mobile device, with more tests available, such as the 3DMark Ice Storm, 3DMark Ice Storm Extreme and 3DMark Ice Storm Unlimited. You can compare your results with thousands others from the entire world and see how you fare.

If the advices above haven’t solved your issue, your PC may experience deeper Windows problems. We recommend downloading this PC Repair tool (rated Great on TrustPilot.com) to easily address them. After installation, simply click the Start Scan button and then press on Repair All.
